Mayuka Yamamoto

Like in the work of Yoshitomo Nara Mayuka's paintings refer to adolescence. However, Yamamoto is not from the circles around Nara and Murakami. After she became a mother she started to depict children with animal features. The boys are sweet and cherishable, but at the same time vulnerable and mysterious. The children/animals in her work represent something out of reach and chaotic characteristic to adolescents.
